Hello

As I was finishing up a cook yesterday evening, I realized that I could have used more light. Our covered patio area does not have the best lighting.

What does anyone suggest? What do you use?

Should I look for something that somehow attaches to my Traeger?

I have a couple of LED flood lights illuminating my backyard.

I got an LED head lamp a few years ago. I think it cost me $15 and I’ve never regretted the purchase.

It puts the light where you need it every time. The batteries last next to forever as well. I think the first one I got is 150 lumens, which is plenty of light for grilling, working on the car, setting up camp etc.. Got another one a few weeks ago. This one is 315 lumens, which, to be completely honest, is a bit overkill. It’s great, but I don’t really need to light up stuff 100 yards away. I think the second one was $25 or so. Only reason I got another one was so my wife could have when we rented a cabin in the mountains.

Only downside is if you’re talking with someone you have to remember to turn it off or it’s shining directly in their eyes.

I have a covered patio that has a ceiling fan with incandescent light and low wattage at that. For general purpose of movement, eating etc its fine. For cooking not so much. I'm looking into the LED rope lights in the daylight temp range. They come in dimmable models. My thought is to run them under my eave around the perimeter, that would cover grills and smoker. Bright light when needed adjustable down to off if unwanted. Like someone mentioned lighting is very available now in many forms and price ranges.

I have a Weber Grill Out LED light that attatches on the grill hood handle. My smoker has a built in LED light.

I also use a headlamp. Works really well, but agree to be careful when talking to people. I do fireworks in the summer, so you get used to talking to peoples chests. Just be careful while talking to women!☺

I have 2 clamp on 110 volt adjustable lights like on a drafting table that can move with extension cord and power strip (I can move them the way I want and they clamp to table/rafter/whatever I need). I use them with a led bulb that's equivalent to about 100 watts each (led is extremely low wattage). Tons of light and low cost. Think the lights were about 10 bucks.
