Greetings Y'all
while working on mods for my new OKJoe highland reverse flow, I decided I wanted the lid clamps shown by others. After much research I found that Harbor Fright has clamps that looked amazingly similar to those sold for much more around the web. They cost $5 a piece. From what i undestand but not substantiated, theHighland has a narrower bezel around the chamber lid than the Longhorn. It drove me bat-sh&t crazy that I could not use all four mounting holes due to real estate. I went the HF route because I could pick them up and measure them myself, knowing it was highly unlikely that I could get a template/measurement from web selling sites. To make sure the two-hole mount was substantial I used 1/4-20 stainless bolts with washer and lock washers behind. My OCD ass will have to get over the fact that they hang over the right edge slightly. Remember to measure twice and drill once for correct clearance of lid when mounted.
that's all for today.
Looking forward to inaugural smoke on Independence day. (10lb Boston butt.)
