Hey guys, just getting the word out...

LEM 25lb tilt meat mixer is on sale at Amazon for $389.

I got a price drop alert from camelcamelcamel, and it's the lowest price it's been for a year or so. I was going to get one last year, but the almost $500 price tag kept me from pulling the trigger. So I set a.price alert, and saved some side work money for it just in case.

We'll, come Wednesday, I'll be the proud owner of one.

I just mix by hand. Those don’t seem like the cleanup is worth it plus the cost and storage. I mix

50 pounds of pepperoni by hand all the time

I'd say you are right. I'd also say that, so far, it seems worth it. I made 16Lbs of summer sausage for the Holidays, and i was able to add some spices, mix, do a test fry, add more, mix, test fry, and so on until it came out like i liked it.

The tilt feature was really helpful in getting it emptied, and i used a silicone spatula to scrape out the rest. I did this at work, and we have a HUGE wash sink, so the detachable tub was fairly easy to clean with hot water and soap. It would be a pain in the ass to clean in my sink at home.

I don't really like making small batches, because if i'm going to go thru all this trouble to make sausage, might as well go 10 or more pounds at a time.

Sausage looks great . Happy the mixer is working out . Looks like a nice one .

I use a tub & mop sink in the mud room for washing up larger kitchen items. Mixer tub, 25lb sausage cyl, large stock pots for canning, etc. A reg bathjng tub or walk-in shower would also work well.

I find the mixer quite handy but I run 20-50lb at a time when making sausage etc. I could see it geing far less use if you were only making 5lb batches. At that amount I would likely use my hands in a tub or bucket.

Mine is the MYM #32 Grinder with the matching 50lb mixer.
