Leg Quarters surrounding the Vortex

    Had 5 Leg Quarters marinating in Mama Sitas Marinade  since Wed.,was suppose to smoke on Thursday.Had to finish my wood floor,finished that yesterday so it was time,to show my Legs some Heat.

    Vortex filled with half Coconut Briquettes and KBB


    Leg Quarters with some rub on the marinade


    Charcoal ready


    Time for the meat to meet the heat used a small piece of Apricot


    First check was after 30 minutes 145* 


    10 minutes later they were done 175* IT kettle held 450* to 500*



    Put 4 sweet Potatoes wrapped in foil no pic in the smoker


    Served with some Quinoa Pilaf

    Hmmm maybe I'll use a chunk of lit charcoal and kiawe for my jerky smoke today!

    Looks great Richie! Love the vortex for that crispy chicken skin. It's amazing, makes your weber cook at a million degrees but never burns anything haha

    Chris it does cook super fast,only thing I don't like is,it takes the finish off the grating.I am going to have to buy some new ones for regular cooks.Thanks
