this was a little over 7#'s but come out great.
rubbed bird with a spicey pork rub & put some butter down his neck.
bout 6 hours @ 225to230° with plum smoke made up cheesey tatters and fresh bread as sides. yum yum

I bet that can ne\ver changed colors like that before. You bird and the fixins look great.

That shot of the can started me wondering, you think anyone has tried to drink the beer/fat/juice liquid inside?
Gotta figure someone somewhere has done it.
 
no i dont brine and it had a great chrisp skin
 
did you do the taters on the smoker too? they come out good on the smoker in a tin foil container
 
The finishing color of that bird is really awesome. Nice smoke. There's nothing better than home made bread and taters to go with smoked bird.
