And, in a distant future, some of the most expensive dishes will. disappear ... like, for example, in Spain, bull fighting... after matador kills bull one of the most expensive dishes afterwards is fried bull balls... 1000's of dollars worth dish...
and yes, I am aware that sometimes bull wins but that's not a point...

As much as I'd be inclined to stick with my natural meat as it is currently raised and produced, there is another huge negative impact this could have. I'm quite surprised that Ryan ( Brokenhandle Brokenhandle ) and Adam ( @pc farmer ) have not mentioned. Think of all the ranchers / farmers that raise the animals being put completely out of work due to machines now producing the meat. Also you'd have the grain farmers unemployed due to no longer having the the necessity of the grain for the animals. Maybe I'm just weird but I have the same respect for farmers / ranchers as I do for law enforcement and first responders; a huge amount, and not just since the pandemic started. Without them, we all pretty much starve or are forced to eat weird things. It may be on the horizon to have nothing but laboratory created meat but as long as I have natural meat, I think I'm gonna stick with that. Sure, I'd try the artificially created stuff just to see what it's all about but I believe that's where it would end for me.

That is a very good point Robert! Was gonna mention it earlier but I was getting kinda long winded already lol! It's not just farmers that feed their own grain to their livestock but lots of farmers that raise livestock for others. It's an extra income that helps some farmers stay in business. Besides that the manure from said animals is used for fertilizer to grow crops. Take either away and alot of farmers would be done for. Science has definitely helped to make improvements in many fields, but others have paid for it.

Now pass the gravy please! :emoji_laughing:

Robert is tapping the nail on the head. I see lab grown meat as a corporate ploy to take over the animal protein market. Drive the smallest ranchers out of business. Take over the largest ranches. Limit beef production and drive the price of natural beef thru the roof while offering the lab sheet to the common man.

Beef prices have already risen up to 100% the last two to three years due to the drought, reduced herds, and China markets opening. If beef prices continue to rise, the stage will be set for lab grown meat to invade the market.

I have zero desire to taste it, but who knows.

Yeah but what if the new tech is transferable to existing Cattle Farms and Beef Farmers produce the new Meat?...JJ

Lab meat is grown from stem cells. It won't be grown on a farm or ranch, but from a technology center. There is a LOT of big money behind it. I suspect it will start with ground meat products and grow from there. Still pricy, but the cost per pound has dropped 10-fold in a relatively short time. Long way to go, but it will happen.

When the bull wins maybe they should cut off the matadors and fry them🤣

I'm not sold on it. The trend is to not eat processed food, but fake meat is very highly processed. Plus all the diet food and drinks where they say "You can't tell the difference!" I can. I'll pass thank you.
