Not bad, we went early and I got the best one in the bunch.

I was just in our Smiths (a Kroger store) Wednesday and not on sale.

No Kroger stores in my area that I know of..
So, how does one pick a good brisket?
At $1.99/lb, you pick briskets varying in both visible fat content and overall shape, each in a small, medium, and large size. Figure 12-18 briskets total, to get a good representative spread.

Take notes as you are able to cook them, and when you've emptied the freezer, you'll have a good idea of how to pick the best brisket.

Which is a long way of repeating what @Buckeyedude said. At $1.99/lb, who cares!

I'm not big on record taking or notes so if it looks good I'm going to get one.

Like said for $1.99 who cares.

For that price I'd get a couple.
Would have to disguise myself so wife wouldn't see me in meat department though. Haha
Our freezer is packed including brisket.

Wife bought 8 this time last year for that price, didn't see it on sale there yesterday but will look again on the net.

nothing here... Local family grocery (Detwielers) has Prime brisket for $5.99 lb... I'll pass ...
