I've seen a few threads about knives and the storing of them so I thought I'd post this for those who may be interested.
I received mine in the mail yesterday and it is really a nice case. A bit pricy, but I like it. When I help do cooks and parties I sometimes have a hard time with my knives in transport and out of other peoples hands. So I think this will do me fine.

I have 11 FORSCHNER knives so I thought I'd keep it all Forschner, but I see most any knife will fit in it. This fits the knives snuggly and really holds them in. The knife tray comes out of the case as well so you can remove it and set it near where you're working.

Like I said. I like it. Here's the link if you want to check it out.

Enjoy the day.

I got the hard one. This can store quite a few things under the knife tray too. This morning I put 7 older knives in it and then gave it a horse shoe pitch towards the kitchen door, about 10 feet, and opened it and all the knives were just as I put them in.

I have an old soft roll up case but don't like it. Used it twice maybe.

Thanks I bookmarked the site. I have a couple of good knives but these look like something I could use along with a case.

When I was a floating cutter I used a Craftsman TruckBox Model no. 9 65021, approx. 2' long, 8" wide and 3" deep with two clasps on the front and top handle; carried all my knives and steels easily from shop to shop; just had to remember to take it home with me for the next day's travel (don't know how many times I got half way home and had to turn around and go back and retrieve it! Either that or my lunchpail, was always forgetting one or the other, lol!).

They still carry it, I'm surprised! This was in the 70's!

I still have it and still store my knives in it!

Hey I got one of those Truckboxes behind the seat in my truck. LOL!
Don't know the size but it holds the important tools I need at times.
That's cool.

Not really a knife carrier, but as someone who has different knives for different tasks from different sets... I love this knife block:

http://www.amazon.com/Kapoosh-Knife-.../dp/B000Q4I9LM

It has tons of little black plastic rods, bout the size of thin spaghetti. You can slide the knives in whatever way you want, and where-ever you want. No more putting certain knives in certain slots!

Thanks for the link. I'm going to order that block this weekend for some of my older kitchen knives I have in a drawer. Good price for a block too!

They have them at Bed Bath & Beyond stores here in Michigan, might be able to find them at similar household stores also.
