Yes, I know a dedicated stuffer would be better, but this is all I have for now and we're dirt poor, so a new stuffer isn't in the immediate future.

Anyway, I have the KA grinder with the stuffer attachment. I used it once with the 5/8" tube. Put it in the dishwasher and I guess the force of the water knocked it up and over the side of the rack and it landed on the heating element in the bottom. You can guess the rest. So now all I have is the 3/8" tube. Can I use this tube to stuff natural hog casings? I'm referring to the size one would normally use for bratwurst. I'd guess it'll take longer, but will it fill them?

I think you will probably be OK. When stuffing something like summer sausage you use a tube much smaller than the casing. It will probably be a slow process but stuffing with a grinder is slow anyway.

Wiggle the casing at the end of the tube to allow the meat to expand better inside the casing and so you dont get air pockets. If your going to use larger casings like fibrous or synthetic you can twist or wiggle same as above.
