On low simmer thanks to Ann while I was at work. Love this once in awhile. Simple store bought Kielbasa and kraut. Simmered for about 5 hours.
Served on a split roll with a dark beer. Heaven my friends. Heaven

We love doing this. I like to add a little brown sugar, caraway seeds and then a few cut up granny Smith apples the last couple hours. And serve over mashed potatoes.

I enjoy this occasionally but I have just fried up the Kielbasa and warmed up the kraut.
What are you simmering for hours?

Looks great Steve! Nothing wrong with an old stand by like that.

Like!

That's true. Sometimes simple is good. Though I was going to have Ann put in a couple of the Cajun smoked sausages I still have left from tx smoker tx smoker spice kit. Though, that may have been a blasphemy!

That would be interesting and probably good. I still haven’t made mine yet. I got the seasoning, cure, casings and stuffer. Need to get cranking, literally...

Hopefully once they’re made I’ll have some for summer grilling with peppers and onions.

Lookin' good Steve!! One of my Winter time favorites is red cabbage, potatoes, red apples, Kielbasa, and a touch of vinegar in the Dutch to simmer on low for hours then serve. Oh so good!! You get the sweet from the apples, the sour from the vinegar, and amazing textural variations from the taters and cabbage. Mom got me loving that when I was about 6 and I still love it!! Yours however looks like something I could chow down on real fast, especially with that mustard!! Mmmm mmmm good my friend!!

Something about kielbasa and cabbage...

Looks good Steve. Like. We just had that last weekend and the wife did a small pork butt roast to go with it. Nothing like a hot dog or kielbasi on a bun with sauerkraut and mustard on top! Next time try adding dumplings to the kraut, I absolutely love the dumplings.
