My first spatchcock chicken and my second cook on the Kamado Joe jr. It’s so easy to use it’s like a luxury compared to my old offset

still got a while to go to get the temp right

happy Sunday everyone

Yes I did ordered it Saturday so should be here by mid week
My bad you did say this before. Awesome, you will love it. I’ve got a pork shoulder in today , few hours in and haven’t had to touch the dial once since I got the temp right

What type of charcoal are you using and are you still able to use some charcoal from previous cook?

I’m still re-using charcoal my 3rd cook in - I’ve added in less than a handful individual pieces across that time and probably wasn’t needed.

been using a brand on Amazon called Big K charcoal as I had it left over, but going forwards going to use the Kamado Joe Big Block charcoal

not sure if I mentioned it already but Smoking Dad BBQ on YouTube is a great watch for all things Kamado Joe
