Here's a screen shot of what my dual monitors typically look like. Beam Calcs on the left and drawing on the right. If you look close you'll see that SMF is always lurking in the background!
Nice. Yeah we do everything in house, except the lateral engineering. I do all of the structural design, survey work and landscape design. Our principal does the schematic designs and we have an interior designer. What programs are you using? We use DataCad 14 and Sketchup Pro 8. I use StruCalc 8 for beam and foundation design.Nice! I don't do many calc's, I'm just a CAD designer - so I do all the drawing then shoot everything to our regional engineer for approval. I just tell folks I do "high tech doodeling" for a living.... lol.
Actually there's a whole "outdoor kitchen" back by the pool! What? No built in BBQ???![]()
We use a poor cousin to AutoCAD called Solid Edge ST3, it's got a bigger following in Europe and Asia, it does OK, but the user customization is not near as powerfull. We make mechanical shaft seals, for various pumps and rotating equiptment. My office handles projects for Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and part of Idaho - and our local ANSI Pump OEM ships world wide so we are involved in most large oil and chemical projects around the world.Nice.
