Hi all. I have lurked this forum for a few weeks and finally put some of the tips I have learned to use.
Yesterday I smoked my first two pork butts (a 6.5lb and a 7.5lb) and shared it with our neighboors during an impromptu block party. The pork was a hit!
I wanted to say thanks to the SMF community for all of the information and tips that helped make some amazing bbq.
In particular, I have to say that SoFlaQuer's finishing sauce:
http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/49892/finishing-sauce-for-pulled-pork#post_3455 was incredible. After pulling the pork, I added the sauce to just a portion of the meat and encouraged our guests to try it without the sauce and then with the sauce. To a person, everyone thought the unsauced meat was really good, but the sauced meat was amazing. I had to agree 100%.
As for the smoker used, I have a cheap bullet style water smoker.

So, thanks again for the information, SMF community! I am looking forward to reading about, making, and sharing more delicious bbq!

Welcome! Glad to hear your smoke went well and that you're getting what you need. Looking forward to seeing some of your smokes.
