Sorry Hon - I didn't see the post until tonight. I can't say that I HAD to adjust the recipe but I have played with it. It's almost against my nature to follow a recipe EXACTLY.... I personally like more garlic (Hey I'm Italian) and add a bit of tomato powder sometimes. I don't find it hot - I throw in a few cups of my cajun spice but I use that on everything - I just love it, to me it's like table salt.

Deejayâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s Cajun Spice Blend
1/4 Teaspoon black pepper
1/4 Teaspoon white pepper
1/4 Teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Ruby Red 100 paprika
1/4 Teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Do you thing it's hot? I was weened on peperocini - which I don't hink it hot but some people do.

Debi, Thanks for your reply and also for the cajun rub recipe. I think I would have to adjust this one too with all the different peppers in it. I was just checking to see if it was just me because everyone raved about the rub and didn't mention the burning lips afterwards. One thing about it you will sure go through more beer with this recipe,LOL

I bought the rub & sauce recipe's but have not had the chance to try them yet. I had made my own close to what is in Jeff's. I had less brown sugar. I was afraid of caramelizing & burning the brown sugar but will try Jeff's rub hopefully soon.

Chadpole -

It's not a rub - it's a spice blend I add to my rubs and practically everything. As a rub it would be very hot indeed!

I too have just purchased jeff's rub but not have had the chance to try it out yet. I mixed up the rub yesterday...it is similar to a rub I had been using. I am anxious to try out the BBQ sauce tho.. Can you use the sauce as a finishing sauce also??
