Hi everyone,
Happy Hump Day!
What is everyone smoking this weekend....??
I am going to be looking for whatever is on sale....I have some smoke withdrawls going on..so I am hoping something amazing is on sale. like a pork loin....or a prime ribby...
Well what amazing things are going on sale by you??? and what are you going to be doing with them???
Do tell!!!

Hump day to me makes me say TGIT (no WD, it means nothing sexual); I do not work Fridays in the fall, summer or spring.

But I am getting a little crabby, my smokers are still stored away and I have still not smoked since February.....

Pouring our garage floor on Friday and hoping to be in the house in about 2 weeks or so. My wife knows that when we get in there I will be smoking something very soon after.

From memory, I have pork butts, buffalo brisket, elk roasts, venison backstraps, etc. in the freezer..... I know, they might be getting some freezer time on them.

Thanks BBQ for posting a thread for me to vent, but thanks to everyone at SMF, I feel you people have kept me from going crazy not smoking. I have still been able to follow everyone else's ventures.

So..... as BBQ asked, what is on the menu this weekend?

Ribs and what ever I find on sale.

Hi Kelly, I just went over the weekly ads and made a list. let's see if my $ can meet the list. In the morning I'll be smoking some NM chiles that will end up in the dehydrator, then into the spice grinder. It's a process, but then again, I have the time. I'm working on a chicken breast dish for the weekend, just need to fine tune it. TMI. Have a great weekend.

Drat! I ordered a 7 in one Smoker from Cabelas for store pickup. My notice to pick it up wasn't in the email today. As soon as I knot its there at the Post Falls WA store I will drive down and get it. (4 1/2 hours ) I have to go to Spokane anyway so this will kill 2 birds with one stone.

I'm hoping to have it for the weekend so I can start smoking for real. If all goes well I am going to smoke a brisket using Jeff's rub and sauce. We have a whitetail hanging at the butchers for pickup tomorrow and I might do some of that. Or my son in law Stanley got a bear the other day with his bow so If I suck up real nice he may give me a chunk.

If it isn't shipped by Friday I will just have to do one more chicken in a row and a couple of corn cobs in my little Cobb Cooker with a few Hicory chips for the smoke. I love the Ciobb but it only does 3- 4 lbs at a time.

PS Goddess I had to Google Hump day to find out what it meant. I thought it was an American holiday. lol You learn something every day.

Candian Bacon is up, it has been cured for 4 days now. Maybe tomorow.

This weekend will be chicken, ribs, butts, briskets at the Ft. Myers FBA comp.

Got to go over the checklist and pack up tonight. Wish I could do a comp every weekend.

I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go to ikea for some meat thermometers. Then I think I'll try some mini-fatties and a small pork butt. The weather has finally turned this last week and the forecast for the weekend is DRY ! (wow)

I don't think smoking is in my weekend plans so I will have to drool over everybody else's. Alas I did bring some smoked goodies with me so I don't suffer complete withdrawal

A couple people are coming for a visit on Sunday, so it's baby back ribs, ABT's and some of Dutch's Beans. Love those things Dutch!
I picked up some Blueberry Pepper Jam while in Maine, so one rack will get that as a glaze, probably thin it with a little apple juice. There will be some Qview.

I am thinking about some turkey legs. And abt's of course. For some reason I can't fire up the smoker and not make abts.

I'm doing a Tri-Tip Sunday (picking it up today) and I'm going to smoke a bunch of onions, peppers and mushrooms, and some corn on the cob.

I thought hump day was Wednesday?

Picked up a small butt yesterday. I'm the only one at the house who will eat it so I guess it's all mine. Will probably pick up some beef ribs to smoke as well.

What? Sigh... I run into that here alot. Actually angers me sometimes. Which forces me to seek solace in another cooking project. I'm augering in here..a tight spiral to food Hell! ;{)

The local grocery has 5# bags of chicken wings for 4.99.Also they have pork butts for .99 a pound .So to make a long story short for 20.00 I got 10#s of chicken wings, and a couple of 5# butts to enjoy during the Notre Dame football game this Saturday. Also as Kid Rock would say "We were smokin funny things" as well. GO IRISH!!

well since ya asked BBQG, on humpday, I said let there be pork!

And there was pork!
Lotsa bones in this pork, so I decided I needed to sweeten them a bit.

so there was glaze! Dutch's beans accompanied these boney rascals, but not in the picture, just pork! A couple fatties came and went throughout the day. I had the day off so I decided to brush up on my rib cooking a lil. I may need to practice more next weds too!

Here they are just before the guy with the knife got ahold of them!

Beans, rice and ribs! My food pyramid for today!

Oh yeah, the weekend. Well fri night I take the lang to a buddies house along with 12 butts and a brisket(packer) and some firewood to see what kind of trouble we can get into on saturday afternoon!

Shopping on hump day for this weekend. I hate to jinx it, but the plan for this weekend includes:

- real fajitas (skirt steak) or real London Broil (flank steak);
- two loins, possibly stuffed, glazed or both;
- much sausage; and
- a raft of par-smoked hamburger patties.

If I get brave, I may try a hand at a new kind of fatty.

Somehow around all this we are supposed to go to the county far - a friend has a hot dog cart and makes tasty and absolutely authentic CSDs!
