What does a typical 11 year old spend their money on? Video games? Clothes? Candy? Nope...not our kid. My 11 year old wanted to use a portion of her Christmas money to buy her very first smoker, all by herself. She got an ASMOKE AS350 mini pellet smoker at Menards for $89. She's already trying to challenge me to a throw-down.

Proud dad moment today. Very, very proud moment.
Proud for you brother. Awesome young lady..

As mentioned, she was in charge of the shotgun shells for yesterday's festivities.

Not too bad for a rookie. 😆

Junior Pimaster is back at it. She wanted to do a whole chicken (which JUST fit on the mini smoker), so let her run with it. Helped me make an injection with beer, butter, soy, W sauce, Chalula, and other spices. Used some spray duck fat for the binder, and rubbed with our Fortune Favors the Bold blend (her favorite). Lumberjack Apple pellets in the smoker, bird is sitting at 160° IT, so should be eating soon.

In action.

Yep, Awesome...

Did she cut the bird up as well ??
No, she left that for me. She was going to but decided last second that she didn't feel confident enough to do it. But aside from paying for and carving the bird, she did it on her own, just asking a few questions along the way.

...she did have her first experience with injection blowout though 😆
