Camp chef dlx 24 broke the auger pin. Well I won the battle. Only took a few beers

I don't know what they use from factory but I used a sheet metal screw.
 
Nice work farmer. Screws don’t have much shear strength, I would use a hardened pin or a shear pin from the hardware store though. But pretty simple fix.

I used what I had on hand. I was looking for a cotter pin or grade 8 bolt but didn't have any. I just wanted to get it fixed
 
Great fast fix Adam. I've debated a cotter key or bolt and decided a bolt is better.
My kids (not related) that used to live across the street came to me in panic as the auger bolt sheared. Well Dad across the street had a couple in the bin to get him up and cooking.
His Cabelas re branded Pit boss is a shear pin eater.

I will take it apart again and use a bolt. It did take about 3 hours to tear it apart and put it back together . It will be quicker next time
 
Great that you got it going again, Adam! May break again but you have time to get the right pin in the mean time.

My former kid across the street has it down to a 5 minute replacement.
