Well, I did not find a better place to ask - SMF is the best

One of my other hobbies is woodworking and I have small collection of some small pieces of hardwood, like for example this piece of maple

and oak. Can it be used in the smoker ?

Sure.. as long as they haven't been varnished or painted or oiled or anything like that...

I also clean my saw of any dust and chips and will collect the sawdust from hardwoods and fruit woods and use the dust for cold smoking as well
