Our local Distillery has gotten so popular you have to enter a lotto for the right to buy a bottle. I lost and really wanted one.

Incredible! If you have a Total Wine they sell some of their stuff but usually gone within hours or at least the Harbinger.

This is why getting so hard to get. They keep winning major awards. I liked it better before they got so well known! These Boys really did there homework and are doing things a little different.

You are lucky. Our first distiller was Wyoming Whiskey, small town, small batch all the way. Limestone aquifer about a mile deep, local source of grains which were ground daily, very cool barrel heads, great bottle and label, they even got Steve Nally the master distiller for Maker's Mark to be the ramrod.


But.... they took a shortcut on time and decided to market it too early. Way too early. Nally's signature appeared on early labels for the first 8 or 10 batches, but he was so disgusted he pulled the plug and went back into retirement. I pre-ordered a few cases to gift bottles to friends and customers, but the supply was in so much demand I could only get 4 bottles. Two days later I cancelled my advance order and so did a lot of others. They are currently blending some older stock with younger batches which did reduce the rotgut burn and some of the kerosene back flavor, but at $45 a bottle it's not a good value.

I haven't tried their Harbinger bourbon but its on my short list. The Promethean will grab you by the boo boo! Whoa! I dabble in bourbons and this one is bold. Probably better with a mixer but I prefer neat or on the rocks. I've yet to find the Harbinger bourbon yet but I will grab a bottle the first time I see one.

The Promethean has rye and makes great Old Fashioned. Harbinger and Hubris are the one's to drink straight. I seen they still have some Icarus left at the Distillery. That one is really good. Aged in port and peat barrels.
