Hello, all. My name is Edward, and I'm from deep south Texas. I used to love eating bbq but was never very good at cooking it. Now, I'm married with kids, and the lawnmower and bbq pit have moved up on my list of important outdoor things. I'm relatively new to smoking meats, although I've smoked a couple of briskets, ribs, and pork butts with varying degrees of success. I stumbled across this forum as I was researching my cooker, which I recently bought from a friend who was moving away for too good a price to pass up. However, I have not been able to find this design anywhere as it is, and I'd like to know if anyone here is familiar with it. I am attaching a picture. The air inlet is on the same side as the exhaust, and the door to the vertical side is on the back. I see about a 125 degree difference between heat in the horizontal side versus the vertical. Thanks for looking, and I appreciate any input. BTW, I have fire brick on the bottom of the horizontal side d/t neglect from prior owner and the desire to protect the steel; otherwise, no other baffles, plates, etc.
