Installing generator on food trailer?

Hey guys I'm building a food trailer and have installed a transfer switch, now I have my shore power figured out but for the generator...do you hard wire the generator right to the trailer or do you use a plug? Not sure if I can just use a plug in the wall then a little jumper cable or if it'll have to be one continuous cord from the transfer switch to the generator?

I'm not sure how you have everything hooked up but I would wire from the transfer switch to a recepticle outside. Then just plug your generator into it as needed
