After reading PignIt's write-up on his cart for his MES, a

lit up and I thought, hey, I've got a bunch of that stuff rat holed around here, how about my GOSM getting equal treatment. I didn't have to do any modification, cut or hack, I had a conglomeration of several years of buying this stuff and having lots of leftover pieces. So here we are with my takeoff:

Hey, that's a pretty good looking truck in the background......

Better clean up this area before I take many more pictures

Well, there it is. My apologies for the background. I do have my priorities. Thanks to PignIt for the inspiration. My GOSM really loves its new home

It seems to even smoke better now. I still have another shelf leftover, similar to the one above the propane bottle, if I feel I need more shelf space. Hey, you never know.

That's great Dave, how high up is that thing, are you even or is the smoker slightly higher now... Don't go running down any hills while smoking meat riding on it, don't thing that would end well.

And nice truck

Now thats a great idea or shall I say build you have there Dave. I have thought to myself several times and said self you need to raise this here smoker up off the ground and make it more back friendly too. So now you have shown me the light and I too have some of that there sheving units that I might just be able to find.

Dave, that is a nice unit and a back saver for sure. Now if I used my GOSM more than the Lang, Ma Dutch might spring the funds for a nice cart like that. Since I haven't used the GOSM since September me thinks she'll have the purse string tied pretty tight.

It's even now, top rack, over the smoker is 5'9" off the ground. Perfect height.

This raises the GOSM enough that I don't aggravate my back. I'm eye level with the top of the GOSM which is perfect for me. I'm looking at and procasternating (sp) on a second back surgery.

How'd you know I lived on a hill? Where's that satellite? Google earth strikes again. Yeah, it would be one wild ride.

All I have left to do is anchor the plywood underneath the smoker to the grid with some 1/4-20 bolts and rig up some chain to support the outer edge of the propane shelf up to the next level (the smoker shelf). I have a larger propane bottle that I prefer to use so I have to watch the weight to make sure it doesn't get tipsy on the propane end.

The total cost was about 21 bucks for the wheels. All the rest was stuff I had squirrelled away much to SWMBO's consternation. Now she's happy, and as we all know, that's a good thing.
