I need help.
I have been using a Inkbird 106 controller for some time for smoking. I leave it set at 230F. Its 20F outside plus the wind chill. Today, my controller wont go past 160F +/-. I double checked all my settings. The Output light is steady. Any ideas?
The output light being on steady means that power is being sent to the heating element continuously. This means that the smoker cannot provide enough heat to overcome the weather conditions, or the element has partially failed. Probably the weather. In these kind of conditions, some people surround the smoker cabinet with some sort of insulation, like a welding blanket. Others that experience these conditions regularly build a permanent structure around their smoker.
It might be best today to finish your cook inside in the oven.
