Yea.. you  read right .  As some of you know I have COPD  & love to smoke meat, Well due to my condition I pretty much had to stop using my stick burner . I went to the MES ..it was somewhat better but still I'd have problems breathing afterwards . Well my lady friend ever watchful over me found this & ordered it even after I told her not to .  What is it you'r asking ?  It an indoor smoker & works . I've used it only once & really was impressed . It's made by Emson & looks like a digital Pressure cooker . Well in fact it is a pressure cooker but uses wood & yes chars the wood. It's ideal for the two of us as I can now smoke small amounts of meat just for us. Up to 6 chicken breast & it's super fast !  55 Min. & & the four I had were done.  It said that 30 min would cook 6 but to ad time for tenderness . I used Cowboy rub & sure enough they were falling apart . I know the question utmost on your mind is the smoke . I placed it on my indoor range with the exhaust fan on. When I first started it I did see a small amount of smoke but after the lid sealed

"about a min." nothing.  At the end of the 55min. I released the pressure opened it up & served .

Undo lid

place approx. 5 wood chips in small cup inside.

! cup of water in bottom

Prepare meat & place inside on racks

replace lid & set digital timer (A few Min. Not Hrs.)

Smoked & ready to eat.

I know I need pic. & if I get any responce to this thread I'll take some & post them .

Now please tell me why I feel well...Guilty ?

Sorry to hear about the COPD. Dad had it, 60+ years of cigarettes, no fun. That Emson is an interesting unit and gets pretty good reviews even from oldschool smokers. There is No Reason to feel Guilty! You found a useful Tool to provide Q in a difficult situation...What? You should settle for eating a McRib once in a while!?!...

At least I'm not resorting to liquid smoke .  I will say about it I did get a lot of smoke flavor in the chicken . I was surprised & pleased with the turn out .

I have been looking at the 5 Qt but was afraid it is to small.  Can you get a whole chicken or a full rack of ribs in it?  Thanks

Stan
The instructions on ribs says to cut in single bones & place on racks. But to answer your Question ..No not a full rack..Not even by cutting it up .Not in my 5qt. . ALMOST BUT NOT ALL OF IT.

Thanks Wood Chuck.  I will plan on getting the 7qt when they go on sale.  Sorry to here about the Bronchitis and hope you feel better soon.  I too have COPD and know what you are going through and its no fun.  Like my wife says

keep your face out of the smoke.  But keep on smoking.

I am in the middle of making an indoor cold/hot smoker, converting a 4.5 cf. ft. working new refrigerator.

So far, the concept seems to work very well. Cold smoked 10 lbs of salmon, hot smoked 4 racks of ribs, and no smoke leaks into the house.

I tried but I'm on oxygen & can't be hooked up when I'm stroking the fire . I think going out with a bang would be pretty cool but I ain't after harming anyone else or my dogs.  Yea you'll love the convenience of this thing & you can do other stuff with it also.   I call it a thing cause "indoor smoker" sounds ....dumb .
