I don't want to buy new... The wife does... She says it takes 3 times around to dry clothes... After looking around I found the vent hose full of lint and restricting air flow... Cleaned it out and it works fine now... Told her we aren't buying new because we are going to sell in a little while...

By asking about new ones it showed her I was looking into it... That hushed her up so far... Plus the one we have is now working properly so she's not insisting anymore... FOR NOW...
Fair enough, sometimes wives can get fixated on stuff that isn't urgent or important (guys too). We bought used appliance out of the want adds for years, a viable option. I only buy used cars and trucks for example, 3-5 years old.

GE top freezer garage ready model.
I just bought one myself . So far so good , but it's only been a couple months . The Kenmore / Whirlpool one I bought 41 years ago is still running , but wanted to head off any issues with the heat wave .
The GE seems solid . Hope so .

protection plan from sears, service guy could get parts,
Made my living as a Carpenter for the last 40 years , but originally went to Tech school for A/C , Refrigeration and appliance repair . 1979 Grad . Back in that era , Sears service guy was the job to have . I tried my best to get hired , but it was pretty locked in .
