I'm Jim and a newbie

I live in Nebraska - Don't have a smoker yet but have been doing research about them for about a year, both on-line and asking different people who use one.  I think I've decided to get the Masterbuilt electric with remote control etc - This looks like the best fit for me who only knows how to smoke by reading about it or listening to someone about it.  Been getting Jeff's newsletter for a while and have tried various things in the oven (pulled pork etc) with what I think are good results and are now more than ready to add smoke to this process - right now are waiting for a real good sale on the Masterbuilt smoker I want.

Like the name - Are wondering if you're a Nebraska transplant or simply a Husker fan from Colorado.

The smoker I think I want is the Masterbuilt 30 electric with remote control - Not being very savy on all these new terms I guess you would call it MES 30?.

I've never been on a 'Forum' before and are not real sure how to move around in one and how to post anything etc, etc.   I'm not really up on all this new fangled electronic stuff and don't really know much about it.

The way I like to put it is - the generation behind me grew up on video games so this electonic stuff is kinda easy for them, I grew up on a pool table so I'm kinda old school to most folks.

Although I don't have a smoker I've done a lot of research about how to do it and have a friend (my Barber) who just bought his 3rd smoker and it's his opinion the Masterbuilt 30 electric with remote is the one for me.

Well, I've wasted enough of your time so will shut up - Thanks for your attention.

And remember - Take good care of your teeth and wear comfortable shoes!
