I recently bought an Icearmor suit (for ice fishing).

I went ice fishin yesterday with the new suit and here are the results.
I purposely wore lite clothes under the suit to see how well it worked. Open fishing, no shanty.

Temp when I started was 12*, Temp when I came in was 2*, not sure what the wind chill was but the wind was only about 5 mph.

Under the suit I only wore regular jeans, a sweat shirt, a thin fleece vest, and a baseball hat.

I was surprised how hot I was when I got out on the ice while setting up and drilling holes.
Once I settled down to fishing and stopped moving around I was still comfortablely warm but not hot. The suit seemed to retain my body heat very well and the hood worked equally well too.
While kneeling on the ice/snow I was surprised how comfortable the built in knee pads were and that I didn't feel any cold thru them and remained dry.

I expect with what I normally would wear under my Carhardts under this Icearmor suit I could stay on the open ice easily all day at temps to -20 or more with no problem. It seems to be completely water proof (I was completely dry after kneeling in all the slush, which I did on purpose) and is totaly wind proof.
In my opinion this suit is fantastic and well, well worth the price of it. I highly recommend it.

I needed that cooking Saturday and working on cleaning the give me Brinkman .....

Here's a pic of me in the suit on the ice. Temps. are at 9 below zero with very little wind and I'm as warm as toast. Only wearing one sweat shirt and jeans, no long johns.

I bought some of the Ice Armor X gloves this year and I love them. I wear a sweatshirt, jeans, hat, jacket and coveralls when I go out. My coveralls are winter tech or something so they have the water proof knees and butt. I would like to get a suit but I need some other stuff first. I want to get a power auger and a flasher for next year.

We ain't catching much up in SE WI..

Man those are nice looking. I learned to icefish from an old Norse guy-his method was to lay down a sheet of plastic and then a closed cell foam pad next to the hole in the ice. He would drop his line into the water, lay down on the foam pad and cover him with a sleeping bag and be nice and toasty. When I get a chance to icefish, I still use that method even though my sons have access and use a large ice shanty.

Yeah, I caught a squirrel....LOL As usual, just when I was all set to go fishing I got a business call and had to go catch a squirrel at a customers house.

I had the same feelings for some time and finally broke down and bought them this year. Now I kick myself in the azzzz for not buying it sooner.
These suits are well worth the money for the comfort of being dry and warm while enjoying your days on the ice. They will also work great for those early and late season fishing days when on a boat as the are completely wind proof. It's like wearing a fish shanty....lol

I have a Strike Master, Lazer Mag power auger and a Vexilar flasher. I've had both of these for about 10 years and not 1 problem with either of them, although I did have to replace my Vexliar battery this season. Just some info. for when you buy your stuff. The money for these was well spent.

Dutch, be careful using that method. These days you could get run over by a snowmobile or a quad runner!!!!! lol

Know what ya mean oneshot-we used to stick bright orange flags up but the last time we went, we took along some rebar to stick into the ice and then we put up that 4 foot high bright orange construction barrier. We sometimes head out on the ice on foot and pull a sled with all the gear and sometimes we head out on a snowmobile. Some folks have asked us "You building something or are ya fishing?"
