I need a simple rub for my first atempt at smoking some ribs next weekend.By simple I mean,few ingredients,nothing realy hot or spicy,just something I can start with.I will be using the 3-2-1 method.Thanks for any information in advance!

I use a modified version and the Mrs. loves it. She likes a sweet taste with minimal bite.Here's my version:
2 C. sugar
3/8 C. paprika
3 tspn. chili powder
3/4 tspn. cayenne pepper
1/3 C. Morton's Tender Quick[1/2c. salt was too much
for our taste. try 1/4c. salt
if not using T.Q.]
3 tspn.black pepper
1 1/2 tspn. garlic powder
I have used rub on all kinds of meat,but on ribs I like to rub them down at least 12-24 hrs. prior to smoking. one time it was 3 days these turned out GREAT. Hope this helps Steve![]()
