I need a home remedy

For Gnats. 

We just got home a few days ago from a two week vacation to find a house full of gnats.  Besides chasing them around smashing them between my hands, is there a good home remedy to get rid of these things.  I am trying the container of vinegar with little holes trick and after 24 hours, I got one.  Is there any homebrew trick that will get rid of these things from in the house.

Try a small bowl with some redwine in it, put some film on it and poke some holes on the top.

If you have house plants spray them good with water that has a little bit of dish soap in it.
