I've actually gotten to the point where driving down the road if I catch a whif of some smoke can identify the type of wood it comes from. My wife thinks I am completely off of my rocker

OH yes, i too have my smoker on the back porch and every time i let the dog out and i sit down in my chair i smell the smoker and i get hungry each and every time. Now i remember awhile back you could buy cans of like fresh air. Now if we could come up with smoked air and sell them, i figure could make a mint, plus get people addicted to smoking, the good kind that is.

Kind of funny..I got to work tonight and was thinking of this thread and remembered when my dad had a BBQ truck. He used to precook and reheat. But about 11:00 am he would just throw a few hickory logs in the pit on the truck for the smell. He said it was the best advertising he ever came up with. The wind would blow and there were a few wharehouses around and the smoke would blow right to them. That is advertising that is hard to beat.

That's exactly why they fry onions and green peppers at fairs ... draws folks in like flies ... just to buy a hotdog or hamburg!
We taste just as much with our noses!

Would that happen to be the Miller brewery, on 35E. I use to deliver pallets to Dannon Yogurt there in Ft.Worth and would smell Mrs.Bairds. It's funny how the smell has so much influence on you.
