i agree, it got dark quick, and early, could hardly see my steaks on the Weber.

Tis the begining of winter as we know it. Hope everyone has stored up on fuel and food and wood. Enjoy the winter whever you are at and I'll enjoy it from here in Florida!

no time change here in sunny AZ, I like it that way-ya winter is close for some-was 91 today,93 on wed, little warm even for me.

I would vote for daylight savings time year round. I really hate leaving work at 5:30 in Dec and it's friggin dark. By 6:30 pm it's is dark as midnight

How I love the long days of late spring, summer and early fall. Come home from work and still have plenty of daylight to enjoy life after work. Well at least it's still warm here. Did I mention that I hate cold weather too

I second this too. Its dark about 5:00 here now. Tried to get a gate built at my horse pasture last night. Finished it, but driving staples in the dark is not fun

. Once hunting season, and the holidays are done, I'm ready for spring. Jan. thru Mar. sucks.

In 1988 Saskatchewan that actually experimented with double daylight savings time.

I did about 10 years in the North where the Summer days were 20 hours long and the Winter days were just about 4 hours of sunlight. It really made Daylight savings time a huge joke. In summer you could sit outside and read a newspaper any hour of the day or night. It never really gets dark for about a week. Winters are really dreary if your not used to them.

About 20 years ago the Secretary at the airport where I worked set her clock the wrong way. Because She had done a similar thing the year before and got to work an hour late She decided She would come an hour early to make doubley sure She wasn't late again. Setting it wrong made her an hour early, add to that she came an extra hour early which would have made Her 2 hours early. Her boyfriend helped out by setting the same clock wrong too which made her 3 hours early. So I was surprised on the midnight shift to see her wander in at 3:55 in the morning. It took a lot of convincing on my part to get her to believe me.
She got a phone call from her boyfriend to tell her that He showed up 2 hours early at his job.

Obviously it was a match made in heaven they were sure made for each other.

By the way this is the same Secretary who when She finished her mandatory union duty 2 hours marching on the picket line. When Her 2 hours were up on the first day of the strike. She drove across town, thru her one of her own picket lines and went back to the office. Her boss quietly took her aside and explained it all to her, He then snuck her back across the line before anyone from the union spotted her.

Not the sharpest pencil in the box by any stretch of the imagination.

But we NEED the extra hour of light, and without DST we wouldn't get it!

Whaddya think, sunlight grows on trees or sumpin'??
