Starts to get expensive.

It’s nothing fancy…but for how cheap it is 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Good starter offset.

And it’s a reverse flow. What time is supper? And what’s Smokin?
LOL. There's gonna be a learning curve....lets say dinner is next week.

Here's my thought...Over the last few of months I was thinking of making an offset cabinet smoker with the option to switch to gravity fed charcoal toward the end of the cook. I can't be the first person to have thought of that...but I can't seem to find a commercially built unit that does that.

Anyway, this is less than what I would have spent on just scrap materials to try to build something and its actually fairly well built with pretty decently think sheet metal. So I might modify this unit and see if I can make it happen as an offset instead of a cabinet.

What do you think Edge?

If I didn’t have an offset already, and the price was right on that one I’d buy it. Of course with the thought in mind that it may need slight modifications. The cook chamber is what it is, but the firebox may need some tinkering. I don’t mind adjusting things though. If it’s cheap enough, snag it.

Yeah $300. I hate to waste money, but if this doesn't turn out at least its not that bad.

Wow, it gets really bad reviews on Nextgrill’s website. Mostly for bad paint, rust and chipping of paint.

Also, it’s built more as a charcoal offset than a stick burner. Might be a fun project but that’s your call. Just plan on the “project” part of it.

Project for sure. I'm no offset expert, but I can tell you right now the fire box isn't deep enough.

Didn't know about the paint, but that should be fixable too.

Think I'll probably put a Tru-Tell on it as well.

I’m in for the ride. It’s a decent base platform for the money. If you are “handy” this should make some good Que.

Yea... Went to HD the other day too... BUT I resisted ... So I see this big stainless propane grill with a tag that says save $450... HHMMMMM... what else do they have on sale... A Weber 3 burner flat top griddle all mac daddied out... I looked all over and couldn't find a sticker/tag on it anywhere...

Sure am glad I couldn't find one ( and wasn't going to look for a manager) as I already have 2 flat tops...

"Just Say NO"

Without much help at all, I could become Sandford and Son for bbq cookers. It’s a weakness in me and I have to watch it.

That's the perfect way to put it! I'd do the same thing if I had the time to tinker with things.

I decided to buy this...so its in the truck. I think it'll need a whole new firebox. Like you said, its not really a stick burner per se. We'll see if we can't fix that.

Just use charcoal as a coal base then use wood chunks or small sticks and you won’t have a struggle with fire management and will reduce paint peel. If you try to treat it as a true offset you are gonna have a tough time
