NOAA just upgraded Nate to a Cat1 Hurricane within the last hour or so.
ETA: Reports say because it strengthened so quickly it now stands a good chance at becoming a Cat2 before making landfall in the US.
To any of our members in the path of this storm, I wish you the best and hope you come through safely, and please don't stay home if you're in areas of storm surge and/or flooding.
Please stay safe out there.
Nate shall be practically sitting atop us Sun morning here in Mobile, AL.
My youngest son is thrilled at sharing names with a hurricane and one that is coming to visit him personally starting Sat evening, myself I'm not so thrilled about it.
A Cat1 isn't huge but it's enough to be of some concern for fences, trees, power and maybe debris.
We plan to ride this one out at home as a family as we've no problem with flooding at our location.
I don't send the wife and kids to visit family unless it's a Cat2 or larger, but I stay to clean up, protect my property and help in the neighborhood.
