Most pike are eating machines. Not uncommon have one bite your lure off and you catch it later with lure still in mouth.

You have timber rattlers in PA, I know not near as deadly as this one.

Yeah we do, but not in my area thankfully! I did see and kill one on a camping trip to northern PA a few years ago, but nothing that big!

thats a cool looking pike for sure!. i caught a blue one one time. just got bit off day before yesterday by a pike. youll have that jiggin for crappie. no telling what will eat your jig. the crappie have been on feeding binge last few days. vertical jigging them in tree tops.
