yeah he got me on this too, bought 2 cobra strikes and a pair of sunglasses that are pretty good for the $. Have you tried the reels or rod?

Nope, rod was leaning against the door when I got home last night. Need line for the reels. But all the beans are planted, maybe plant sweetcorn today. Fishing does sound like a good idea... should get a license and find a pond!

Been running up to a local reservoir in the early mornings on the weekends with one of my best friends… my son! Though he’s only 17, he’s one of my few rocks when needed… he’s an amazing young man! Been doing decent. Last time up was a bit rainy and cloudy… this morning… was nice though!
Was a fun few days! And scenery alone is amazing. Looking forward to more this year. And we are pondering hard on getting a mid sized boat to expand our fishing options.

boat is a blessing. just keep it simple and youll enjoy it. dont let age fool ya, older OMC motors are best choice. hull type is a big consideration also.
around here the crappie are coming off the spawn. been jigging up messes from the tree tops in 12ft zone. weather getting hot so its time to switch to night gills n trout.

Shore. Been a slow Spring.
That is a tough day...
So, at the local reservoir again… not much luck… then tried the rivers. Same!! 
But had noticed some fly fisherman doing very well!
Pete, very observing young man asked… “Dad, why are they catching fish? It’s different from what we are doing… and we aren’t catching anything!”
Well, cause they are fly fishing bud… we are just baiting with worm/corn. In his nicest calm mannered voice said…. “Then why don’t we try that kind of fishing?”
Never fly fished a day in my life… but due to my partner in crime…. We are going to learn together! Good, bad or ugly…
It was as investment in my mind! Kinda spendy for decent gear?! Yea! But I’d sure pay any price for my kiddo to be out fishing or hunting… at 17… he still wants to hang out with the old man! We have some good times…
The fly fishing gear today was not cheap, but I told Nic… and she agreed… If that’s his passion in fishing and hunting… support it
cause he could be doing other stuff.
Also, the catches if you keep are tasty… and if not… the bit I’ve seen so far is you can release the fish with no harm if handling them correctly!

Fly fishing is an art for sure. One day I have to get a little setup and try again. Where I live the obvious targets are gills, bass and pike
