Wife and I were talking about it this morning, gonna be about- 26 here tonight and tomorrow night actual temps. By next weekend 35, about a 60 degree temp swings, doesn't include windchill. Talk about waiting for the weekend! :emoji_laughing:

Things goin downhill here, our low tonight is -5 with a high of 5 tomorrow and we've got 8" of snow, at least.

Don't have any water in south OKC, our water treatment plant is down with frozen pipes.

And we're being told to lower our thermostats to conserve natural gas, there could be a shortage.

And we've got at least 4 more days of sub freezing temps. This part of the world is not prepared for this kinda cold.

Tomorrow it's supposed to starting to warm up here. The last 3 weeks straight have been -23 to -48. They say in a week and a half we might even see a couple of days above freezing, but I'll believe that when I see it.

Gary, you win! So do you start to sweat when it hits 20? :emoji_blush: Are you talking C or F?

Here in the land of Texas
...
If texans would not drive like Snow was white Lumpy Rain (Drive 70) They would be ok driving.........
...
OK, this was 30 years, but I was in the Metroplex (Dallas-Ft Worth) when it snowed. I thought the Texas DOT did a better job and the Texans drove better than what I experienced in Seattle (I lived there at that time).
As of right now
Suppose to warm up to -10°
The only plus is that we only have about 6" of snow on the ground. Warmer temps about Wed.
Stay safe everyone !
Wow, Your indoor humidity is really in the tanks.
Mine is down to 42% and wife and I are not happy.
Wohoo, it got to -9° this afternoon and sunshine heated our living room to 75°. We have the heat set at 68°, too.
I thought I had it bad until I started looking at the posts here today.
About 31° and 14" right now in Everett, WA, which is unusual.
...
Power outage was biggest problem I noticed from storms.
I got the snow report from my friend in rural Auburn. Good amount of snow, but power still on.
Their place in Ocean Shores got blasted with freezing rain.
...
Are you talking C or F?
Ryan, at "-23 to -48" it is almost moot.
C & F merge at -40° and -48°C is -56°F

Tonight we are at -25 air temp and -40ish wind chill. My boss expects me to start five large Diesel engines tomorrow morning. My comment to him"Yeah, good luck with that! I'm good but I ain't that good!" He thinks I was joking.

When I worked out in our steel yard we had scraps of pan deck we ringed around the telehandler and blew a diesel fired heater under it when we got way in to the negatives. Failing that, we always parked them so when we opened the engine cowl it was facing the sun to grab any heat we could.

I don't miss the yard.

With all the cold weather the people I feel the worst for are livestock farmers! It takes so much more time for them to take care of their animals. Need to have plenty of bedding for them, keep the snow removed, waters to thaw out. And all the while hopefully keeping all the machinery running.

These temps are in F. When its that cold it doesn't really matter LOL. Actually -40C = -40F.
Unbalievable as it seems, towards the end of the week its supposed to be just barely at the freezing mark. Yep t-shirt weather then.

We hit -3C yesterday, talked to my daughter who just moved to Houston TX, she was at -9C. Not often that happens. Feel for those people in the south that aren’t equipped to deal with winter.

man us southern folks are freezing. Hoping it does warm up the weekend.

Never even looked to see what temp was this morning, just know it's still cold. But have been really busy as a doorman lately... two dogs, a 12 year old who loves being outside and an almost 2 year old Dobie, yes she's a toddler with way too much energy! So only allowed to go outside for a few minutes at a time... many times each day!
