Its called North Carolina!!!! And I'm smack dab in the middle of it... Kernersville NC.

God has blessed me with a job that takes me all over the world.  Been around it 26 times in the past 8 years!  I love food... Good food, wild food, and more than anything, a big slab of meat slow cooked over, under, in, or around something that creates "SMOKE".

I cook on a BroilMaster... Nothing beats it for searing steaks.  I just sold my WSM and now I'm looking at the cookshack or the SmokinTex cabinet smokers.  But my main focus for joining SMF is to gain insight and learn more about local tricks and trades...

Carolinas = Pork

Texas = Brisket

St Louis = Ribs

Alabama = Turkey

Washington = Salmon

Welcome to the SMF WP.

I see you are pretty sure of what areas equal good que, but I challenge that you will find folk from all over the country that can do it better and bigger than anyone's preconceived ideas of what bbq should be.

My family is from Lexington, NC but I have used my personal experience and that of folks on this site to blow that away!  I have no doubt that if you stick with us you will feel the same way.

Nice job on your q-view and keep it coming.  We love to see what you have cooking and welcome all thoughts, recipes, and experiences.  It is our goal to educate all who visit this site on smoking meat, equipment, etc.

Again, welcome.  We are glad you joined us.

No doubt Bill...

Who would ever think that a bunch of yankees could get it right!  But they do... oh do they ever do!!

I've got a bloodhound nose for BBQ, and I try to find it where ever I travel.  good BBQ is truly a world wide pursuit.
