Three weeks ago, I cut, split, and stacked a chord of seasoned Oak wood that I got for free.
Nothing is free, I'm paying for it big time now, I tore my tricep and rotor cuff, and man does it hurt. Going back next week to figure out when they are gonna cut on me, I'm not thrilled.
The pain goes all the way down to my hand, and I can hardly pick up my guitar, let alone play it.
I actually played it for a few minutes yesterday, and boy, I am sure paying for it right now, I can't sleep at all now.

So, what stupid things have bitten you in the ass lately?

I've been down the rotator cuff road 4 times so I "feel your pain".

Nothing really stupid lately, but I just have to keep telling myself to slow down and put 1 foot in front of the other and think about what I'm doing or about to do. I've found as I've gotten old(er) that more stuff hurts, stuff hurts more, and stuff hurts longer. If I climb on something, I have to climb off...not jump off and I mean that figuratively as well as literally...

Make some "tea" from that oak bark.
Hope you are feeling better

I shot a nice buck last fall that slid down a steep embankment and was stuck at the base of two small trees. In the process of trying to get the buck unstuck I tripped and fell/tumbled about 10 feet. I got the deer out of the woods, registered and hung up and then headed to the ER. 17 stitches in my head and I'm no wiser than before ,need to slow down as my mind thinks I'm 20 and my body says you're close to 70.

The best, or worse, is yet to come.
I'm 59, but I don't feel a day over 89, I swear I'm turning into my father, which scares the crap out'a me. Don't get me wrong, I love the man to death, I just never thought I would be this crippled up at my age. It does no good to tell you, because you're young, but I'll say it any ways, take care of your body. And if you're a hunter or shooter, WARE YOUR DAMN EAR PLUGS!!!!! :emoji_laughing:

LOL , My body tells me I'm close to 70 because I am. :) Too late on the hearing, military mortars and MG's, civilian chainsaws, steam locomotives, rock concerts and snowmobiles have done them in .

Boy did I misread that one, I read it as you were 20.
I'm tired, can't sleep, sorry about that.
Dan.

I'm gonna be 61 in a few short weeks. Seems like everything I got hurts most of the time. A good day seems to be when I can work a few hours in the shop without feeling like a cripple after I come back in the house!

I try not to do anything too dumb...but I'll inevitably pick up something heavy or crawl under something to do some welding in a tight spot - things that a younger man takes for granted. That's usually when I ask myself "what were you thinking, dummy?"

This thread is making me feel old, tinnitus started at 32, knee pain at 34, back started giving me problems 37 and know I am coughing up blood. I haven't even lit my smoker in 6 months because my back cant taking loading the racks anymore Im not even 40 yet.........

Man that’s tough Dan.
64 here with pinched nerve in my neck and have avoiding surgery for 10 yrs but can't wait much longer. It's affecting my bass playing with numbing, tingling in left arm. Hurts my back to sneeze and feel like 1 fart away from being paralyzed 😄
Moved houses over Christmas and definitely realized my limitations!

Tired, wasn’t paying attention, turned ankle and fell on the concrete outside Krogers. Not that falling is a big deal, I’m good at it and fall regularly. Luckily, I learned to fall properly as a lad and it’s all automatic. But boy, that ’crete is hard. Sore for a week. Worst part was when this really nice young couple ran over to help me get up. The bastards.

I must be ancient vs old as at 62 I threw my back out pretty badly but just rolling over in bed. In fairness the lower right had been minor pain I ignored for months. One wrong twist took it from constant 2 to 9. I think my third visit to the chiropractor may do it. The first two have me 80% close to better. It's still there though. I have constant issues on thar lower right side for year. Started back when I used to lift and workout a lot.

At 57 I'm apparently a youngster around here, but like many my brain thinks I'm still 12, maybe 13 on a good day. My last job was quite labor intensive at times, and a lot of the active duty kids were not quite sure if they wanted to mess with me as I brought it every day, but my new job is pretty slack and it's starting to show. I stay active, outdoors in the warmer months.. kayaking etc etc, and winter time is prime metal detecting weather. Lotsa walking up and down hills bending kneeling digging but I'm starting to feel it. I think the true indicator of age was the day I bought Metamucil and had a frank discussion about it with a friend :emoji_laughing:
