Been there, done that.  Agree with Atomic that it is still, a lot of work.  With the amount of Garlic I use, I now just buy a pound of garlic cloves already peeled.  Way too easy and fast.  Dump the whole bag into a food processor and within 10 seconds it's all minced up.

OK, next question: where do you buy a pound of already peeled garlic cloves? Sounds like a good plan to me!!

Here's a quick way

Buy fresh heads of garlic......smash with knife and remove skins!!!  Voila you have garlic cloves.  :o)

I stay away from the packaged stuff because they use stuff on it to keep it from spoiling......much better to buy a head IMNSHO
