How much foil do you use?

The other day the better half says to me, "you know you use more aluminum foil than anyone I know..."

I started thinking about and maybe I do use more than normal? We probably go through a roll of the wide heavy duty every 3 weeks and a roll a month of the regular.

I actually just ordered a 500' foot roll of the wide food service heavy duty from Amazon today. We'll see how long that lasts...

Oh... She also said I use too many paper towels... Hahaha

I think it comes with the territory when you prep and smoke/grill food. I don't go through that much foil, but I can make rolls of paper towels disappear in no time at all.

We use lots. I always get the big, wide stuff at Costco. Ane with the amount of paper towels we go through its a good thing I haul logs into pulp mills all winter.

Foil, not huge amount.
But paper towels and butcher paper, we're talking some serious pulp wood acreage.
Plastic wrap, plenty of that too.

Well, not quite as much foil since I started using butcher paper, but I do make all three; foil, butcher paper and paper towels disappear pretty quick...
Let's not forget the wet wipes either

Oh yes... The Clorox wipes disappear around here at an alarming pace!!!!

A lot. The next foil I'm buying is going to be the HD 24" 500' roll. 18 is nice, but I could really use those 6 inches on some of the briskets I've been doing. I know foil is cheap, but sure go through a bunch. Meh, no one said this hobby was cheap lol.

It's funny you mention that, people always ask why wear nitrile gloves for home cooking. "Seems like a waste." Is usually what I hear. I just look at them and go, "Do you know how much faster it is to change gloves rather than wash hands?"

Im right there with you on the foil, paper towels etc.... I didn’t see mentioned dawn dish soap that disappears like it evaporates and in my house (3 women roaming around) TP goes faster than Halloween candy.

Yeah, Dawn dish soap, hand soap/sanitizer and TP are like water down the drain... Literally.
Clorox wipes go pretty quick too.
No nitrile gloves here, I'm just an obsessive hand washer.

I buy the Harbor Freight nitriles.... 100 pairs for like 5 bucks. I use them too when I grease my machines.... They're cheap and actually very strong

I also have a box of the 9mm black ones... I use them to work on my truck because they are crazy strong

I go through foil and paper towels quickly and I hear about it all the time from the wife. My response, "Oh yeah? But not as fast as the TP. I swear you eat the stuff!"
