Well, pretty much every reply says no worries!

Growing up there was a family that we were all close to. The wife made the absolute best fried chicken I’ve ever eaten. She always cut up two birds to fry so there were leftovers. Us kids snacked on that during the week. Funny thing was she would always store the fried chicken in the oven. We ate leftover room temp. When my father asked her why she did that, she simply said the oven is sterile and it’s safe. All I know is we ate that chicken over the years and no body ever got sick.
Now THAT is interesting! Never thought of the oven as bieng sterile! I'll bet that leftover unrefrigerated chicken was better than refrigerated fried chicken. If I have anything breaded in the fridge like that, I let it come to room temp and re-deep fry it for a minute or two. Same with fries I take home. I almost always have the fryer ready, and its pretty easy to clean real quick if needed.
Only time I have leftover pizza is when I plan it and buy / make extra . I do go into the fridge with it , but not a worry for me either way . Lived a long time without and internal temp / 40 to 140 works itself out if you know how to cook .
That's what I do. I intentionally buy more when its a deal. We dont have a pizza place near enough to us for a reasonable delivery cost and I also tend to tip very well, so delivery to here can get pricey! I break the pizzas down, wrap the slices individually in plastic wrap, then in to a Ziploc freezer bag in the freezer. It may be a week or two before we eat the second pizza.

One day I just decided to search this for the heck of it, and nearly every single result said you are supposed to refrigerate within two hours. I knew that wasn't right. In my younger years pizza would be left on the counter, mostly because we just didn't remember to put it in the fridge before we passed out! Like others, for me I didn't hesitate to eat that for breakfast.
Here in lower NY I can't believe Domino's, Papa John's even exist. There are so many pizza places owned by Brooklyn transplants that make incredible pies.
That's why I only buy pizza from Domino's or Papa Johns when there is a deal and its convenient to somewhere I'm already going to be. $10 makes a large 7 topping Domino's pizza taste pretty good!

We have an Italian place 10 mins away that makes a good pie and if you get their already designed pies (toppings as they design the different pies) they can be competitive with the big chains. They hose you for adding toppings or designing your own though. Their large cheese is $16, the 5 topping combo is $20. If you get a cheese and add 5 regular toppings of your choice a large is suddenly $38!

I must be a pig... never have enough pizza left over for days!

Ha, ha! I think thats most people, especially if they have hungry kids. It's just me and the wife usually and like last night, I had eaten a pretty big lunch so I was full after just two fairly good sized pieces. As I age I just cant eat as much volume.

The last Sicilian pie I ordered with half onions and half meatball was $34, I never said they were cheap...lol I still have to say Costco large slice for $1.99 is the best deal out there.

Pretty much all food we serve gets parked in the oven set at 170F to hold. Pizza goes in box and all. Pizza actually gets a little better after about 30m-60m hold as it has cooled down from the pickup or delivery. Last slice you eat is warm as the first. No other way for us. From here immediately goes in to ziploc and fridge. I care less of the safety but it sitting out a few hours or overnight dries it out too much for my liking.

Pizza fresh or not real fresh is fantastic, ( as long as no fish or black olives ) one of my main go to
if im not making them . I order a large ( 16" ) Mona has almost 1 slice , I have 3 to 4 . and chew on the rest for a couple breakfasts on the way to work .

Now I want pizza instead of pork steak, ....no Pork steak tonight and take a Large pizza with me tomorrow to have for a couple days at the property.

I always go to the fridge with it. Maybe I'm overly careful, but I got pretty sick (not life threatening or anything) from some leftover pizza that sat out too long as a child. I think you are rolling the dice. It probably depends a lot on what's on the pizza.
