I am planning to start taking the weber kettle to Talledega, Atlanta, the weekend lake camp site, etc.  I have a hitch hauler for the RV and am curious to see ideas others use to transport their smokers.  Just ratchet it down and go or build a rack system?

With an RV I'd just put it right inside.  I use a truck when I go to Eagles' games and take it that way.  The last time I even did some smoking while driving down the Turnpike.  It may not have been the safest thing (or legal) but I used my MES, a generator, and the AMNPS

I'm building a rack system as we speak for mine... here's a rack system I built for my golf cart on the back of my RV

This was leaving the Nascar race at Bristol a few years ago. Sad to say I no longer have that RV (cried when we sold it) but I still have the carrier. It lowers to the ground, drive the golf cart on then raise it up.

We have a travel trailer now so I am building a smaller rack to go on the bumper and carry my smoker and a few coolers.

Thanks for the replies.  Transporting the grill inside is not going to happen with the admiral aboard.  So I imagine rathchet it down and go will be the mode of transportation.
