anyone know if you can use this for a smoker? A local guy has a really good deal on some 4x8 sheets of it.
 
Should work just fine but it wil rust really fast.

Just sand and maybe use some rattle can primer as you go.

I am not a metallurgist, but I don’t see problem with using it. Once you get it hot the oil is going to burn off. You may have problems with painting it, but if I’m thinking of it correctly, hot pickled in oil is what you do to season a black iron skillet to help protect it from rusting? You get it hot, add oil….. let it to cool, wipe it out and then start using it…. maybe someone else knows something that I don’t know though….wish I could help more…..SB
