Hello everyone I am new to the smoke world. I have been hunting for about 5 years now and am getting tired of paying so much to get sausages, slim jims and anything else made for me. I process and grind the meat myself so I figured I might as well do this side of it too. I have been doing some research on the type of smoker I wanted to go with/build and in the process my couisin who runs a kitchen informed me that he has an industrial kitchen warmer I can have. The hearing elements don't work but I plan on making it a gas smoker anyway. When I get the unit I will post some pictures and I am sure will have a few questions about setting up the new rig

Welcome to the forum!  I have no sausage experience, but lots of folks here do.  Glad you joined us.

Welcome! You came to the right place for learning how to make your own sausage and build a smoker! Have fun!

I searched around and found a few threads that resemble what you are trying to do. Check these out and see if you get some direction to go. They should help frame what you need to do and allow for more specific questions. I'd post a new thread of your build with specific questions under the smoker builds forum for the best responses. You can get to that forum using the menu bar at top or when you look at one of these links (they are already in that forum) you'll see "start new thread" on upper right. Posting these pics and questions should get responses there. You could also just post some questions in response to the threads I provided since those members already went through the build! They could be great help!

Good luck!
