Hi All,

I'm Dan (aka dwolfpak) from the Twin Cities in Minnesota.  Last fall my wife said to me, "I don't know what kind of smoker thing you want, so just go get it yourself..." after 5 years of hinting at it for birthday, anniversary, Christmas, or any other reason.  So I went and picked up my Oaklahoma Joe Longohorn Smoker.  Being MN, winter is not great for smoking, but I did break it in on Christmas with a perfectly smoked Prime Rib Roast.

I've been cooking on the campfire since I was in Cub Scouts, and have always wanted to get into smoking.  So here I am, Spring is finally starting to arrive, and I'm ready to smoke!!!

Look forward to sharing tips, failures and successes.

Dan

Hay Dan!!

I'm also from the Twin Cities area.  Welcome aboard!!  Being new to the sight myself, I don't have any particular insight as yet but this seems to be great forum with amazingly generous contributors.  I have seen many threads posted in this sight about using an Oklahoma Joe,  but you should definitely post a thread about how to find a spouse who actually sends you out to buy one for yourself!!  Especially a Longhorn!!  You may have earned "Rock-Star" status based on that alone.

Anyway, welcome to the sight and please let us know how your new smoker works out for you.
