This website is awesome! My name is John and I am from Crystal Lake Illinois, a Northwest suburb of Chicago. I just started smoking about five months ago and am the only person I know around here that smokes meats. My roommates and neighbors like it though because they get to eat what I make. I am hoping to learn a lot from you veterens. I have the basics down but have a long way to go before I am winning any prizes. Look forward to learning and sharing what works for me.

Welcome to the board. Definitely checkout the 5 day e-course. I use to lived in Naperville and Willowbrook/Hinsdale, IL. We miss Chicagoland. Ever smoke any Daisy Wieners?

I don't know what a "daisy weiner" is, but if you let me know I will add it to my list of things I want to try to smoke. Next on my list has to be meatloaf. Saw some pics on here yesterday from I don't remember who but looked awesome!

I lived in the Zion/Waukegan area for about 21 years and never heard of a "daisy weiner" either. Unlike Wavector, don't miss the area all that much, especially the winters!! I live where there is no snow now and like it that way.
