Hello everyone!

Just thought I'd introduce myself. Names Matt, been lurkin' here for a couple weeks. Just received my WSM, so I figured I'd register and say hello.

While I have your attention, couple quick questions in regards to the WSM... I have read that I should "season" my smoker, is the necessary? If so, how should I go about it? any easy quick mods I should make to the smoker? I've noticed there is a slight residue, I'm assuming from the manf. process, should I wash my grates or just fire it up and let god sort em' out?

I'm pretty much a n00b here, but weather permitting, going to give some baby backs a go tomorrow or mon.

[color= rgb(24, 24, 24)]Seasoning is to burn off that residue you are seeing. I don't have a WSM so I'm not sure what their recommended process is, it might say in the instructions that came with the smoker.[/color]
