Anybody here been through it?

It would appear the surgery I had on 04/27/2021 has quite possibbly failed and my primary doc felt a bulge down there and I'll be going for an ultrasound Wed. morning.

Your subject caught my attention. I went to a surgeon this morning for an inguinal hernia. He said I need surgery where he will be using a mesh as part of the repair. I am interested in what you find out on Wednesday and what other will have to say as well.

I had a inguinal hernia with mesh repair 20 some years ago. Felt the mesh pulling until 4 years ago, but it has not failed. Of course I've been very careful when lifting to be set properly so not to tear it again.
Good luck.

How did you feel with this "pulling"?

All I know is I feel exactly the way I felt before I had the surgery.Lower left back pain and my left nut being super uncomfortable.

Yes, I have had two in the last 25 years and one has failed. Until it really starts bugging me, I'm not going to get it fixed.

The wife had one several years ago. Thought it failed a year or so later, but turned out to be a pulled muscle that time. She was down for the count for a couple months before she could return to work.
A buddy also had one that had to be redone. Seems the first surgeon placed the mesh on the outside of the abdominal muscles. Nobody would out and out call it malpractice, just not the way they would have done it. They cover each others Backs.
He had it re-done and has been great for 20 years or so.

Haven't revisted this as its been a while but I finally had a second ultrasound done.

"There is an artifact related to hernia mesh." Trying to find out what the hell that means.

"Like Ivy growing through a chain link fence."
My case it worked but then herniated in a different, lower spot.

Have an appointment with the surgeon on the 24th. Hoping for a good outcome.
