I have 9 lb precooked pork shoulder that I thought I would smoke. Can you smoke something already cooked.

Yes. Try smoking it at 275 deg  for a couple hours with alder or hickory,

I went ahead and moved it. 

I have smoked pre-smoked spiral sliced hams before just to heat them up and add a little fresh smoke to them so you should be just fine!
