image.jpg I took a shot at getting some 17mm mahogany collagen casings and a 3/8 tube from smokehouse chef. Just as I suspected my cabelas 11# stuffer can’t budge it.Anybody have any ideas, I tried spraying the tube a still no dice, I was going to try my jerky blaster but I’m afraid it will break.

Someone on SMF.com told me a 5# stuffer was the fix. They had gotten rid of all their bigger stuffers and now only use the 5 because the smaller diameter chamber and follower was better able to push the mixture.
So it might not be the mixture, but instead simple hydraulics holding you back.
Hopefully someone well versed will be along...

Yeah your big stuffer is going to struggle some. Here is a tip that may help.
Put your mix in the stuffer canister, lower the plunger to just sit atop the meat, look at your canister outside, when most of the condensation is gone from the outside try stuffing.

(Dont worry you wont die)

I use a 3/8 OD tube with my 5lb LEM for 13mm collagen
